Hostwriter is excited to announce the European Journalism X AI – Artificial Intelligence Fellowship 2025. This fellowship is designed to support journalists — especially those from marginalized and underrepresented communities in Europe— in harnessing the power of AI in their work.
Applications are now open for the 2025 European Journalism x AI Fellowship, a fully funded training initiative for journalists new to using artificial intelligence and curious to understand how the AI sector affects their day to day lives as workers and as journalists. During 2025 and 2026 Hostwriter will award a total of 100 stipends for fellows from our network.
As artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the media landscape, Hostwriter is inviting journalists across Europe to be part of the conversation. In partnership with the Centre for Public Impact, featuring training from Google and Hostwriter, this 4-session online program will run throughout the month of June 2025. Fellows will learn how to responsibly and effectively integrate AI into journalism, gaining hands-on knowledge and practical tools to take their reporting to the next level.
From navigating bias in algorithms to using AI in story discovery, participants will leave with a grounded, critical understanding of what AI can (and can’t) do for journalism. If you are new to AI essentials, this training will be particularly useful. This is a space to reflect, connect, and gain skills in one of the most transformative areas in journalism.
Selected fellows will receive:
-
- A €250 stipend upon completion of the course
-
- A certificate of attendance
-
- Exclusive access to a Europe-wide peer network of journalists exploring the future of the field
Virtual training is offered either in the morning or the afternoon, to make attendance easy:
