From the 6th to the 10th of April, our team will be in Perugia. We are thrilled to be joining the International Journalism Festival 2022 and excited to add our insights on a panel on the topic of diversity, equity and inclusion: Underrepresentation is misrepresentation.
This year is special for journalists, media workers, and communication experts because after two years canceled, one of the most important international festivals of the industry is back, and looking forward to hosting relevant discussions in the world of journalism and its challenges in Perugia, a city in central Italy.
Our panel: Underrepresentation is misrepresentation
This panel will be led by mostly editors from Unbias The News, our newsroom launched in July 2021. For this discussion, we look to focus more on expanding beyond diversity as political correctness and suggest practical ways in which media organizations beyond workshops and seminars can actually diversify to allow for more inclusive operations and more accurate and trustworthy news.
In this sense, we will talk about the work done over the last year by the Unbias The News team and how our global newsroom has been able to create a space for journalists experiencing structural barriers in the field, working towards a more equitable and inclusive world of journalism.
